The Grand Arche at La Defense
10km from the centre of Paris it forms a striking terminus to the 'Grande Axe' linked by the Champs d'Elysees and the Avenue Charles de Gaulle with the Louvre at the other end and the Arc de Triomphe in the middle.
The construction is a huge cube measuring 112m on each side and was one of Mitterand's 'Grande Traveaux'
